Jadwiga Z. Roguska

Jadwiga Zofia Roguska, a Polish cellist, began her musical education at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she completed her bachelor's and master's degrees (including pedagogical studies) in the class of Prof. T. Strahl and M. Szmyt from 2016 to 2021. Since 2020, she has been studying cello at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. S. Kropfitsch; she also earned a bachelor's degree in German studies from the University of Warsaw.

In 2023, Jadwiga Roguska received the "Young Poland" cultural scholarship, following her previous success in 2020 with the Minister of Culture's scholarship. In June 2022, she won second prize in the International Concerto Competition at the PRISMA Festival in Canada, which led to two solo performances with the festival orchestra. Her chamber music career, shaped by mentors such as Hatto Beyerle and Eberhard Feltz, includes projects with the Cipra Quartet (summer tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and the Lironima Quartet (Zest Musiek Dagen Festival, Netherlands).

From 2017 to 2024, she co-founded the Cuore Piano Trio, which presented its own concert series at the Vienna Musikverein. Her CD "Never Twice the Same" (KNS Classical) was released in January 2024. She currently plays with the Orchester Bühne Baden (Stadttheater Baden/Vienna) and the Synchron Stage Orchestra, which specializes in film music. Previous collaborations include the Miami Music Festival Orchestra, Baltic Academies Orchestra, and Ljubljana Festival Orchestra. In 2024, she attended the renowned Kronberg Academy, working with cellists such as Jens Peter Maintz and Arto Noras. Since 2022, she has been expanding her repertoire to include baroque cello and historical performance practice at the mdw with Dorothea Schönwiese and Stefan Gottfried.
