Goldmark Quartet

Ancla 1

Classic elegance meets contemporary expressiveness
Since its founding in February 2020, the Goldmark Quartet has been dedicated to the mission-driven interpretation of string quartet literature in exceptional performance settings. The multinational ensemble—united by its artistic home of Vienna—combines cultural heritage with innovative programming to appeal to a broad spectrum of audiences. With a focus on sociocultural education, the quartet is committed to recontextualizing traditional chamber music and inspiring younger generations with the multifaceted sound of string instruments through interactive formats.

Training & Mentorship
Under the guidance of renowned personalities such as Prof. Wolfgang Wölfer-Roth (Thomastik-Infeld Artist), Prof. Anton Straka, and Prof. Michael Frischenschlager, the ensemble refines its craft. At the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, the quartet also received formative inspiration from Mag. Vida Vujic, Peter Schuhmayer (Artis Quartet), and Johannes Meissl (Altenberg Trio), who sharpened its technical precision and chamber music synergy.

A milestone was the invitation to the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (Belgium, May 2022), where the ensemble received open masterclasses from Gregor Sigl (Artemis Quartet), Miguel da Silva (Ysaÿe Quartet), and Yossif Ivanov (assistant to Augustin Dumay). The resulting residency offer from the Chapel underscores the ensemble's international potential.

Stage presence & projects
The quartet has performed at key venues such as the Cuvilliés Theater in Munich and the Herkulessaal as part of the Bavarian Philharmonic's concert series. A highlight is an exclusive invitation to the UEFA Euro 2024 Fanfest, where they will perform a hybrid classical-pop program live in Germany.

Naming & Philosophy
As a tribute to the Hungarian-Austrian composer Carl Goldmark, the ensemble bears a name that embodies artistic integrity and pedagogical ethos. This choice reflects its commitment to embedding historical musical narratives in contemporary discourse.

The Goldmark Quartet combines academic expertise with concert radiance – an ensemble that redefines the boundaries between tradition and modernity.
