Goldmark Quartet

Ancla 1

With the goal of bringing the string quartet literature closer to the audience in a beautiful atmosphere, the Goldmark Quartet has been making music together since February 2020.

The talented musicians of different nationalities met through music in Vienna, whereupon a quartet was formed in addition to friendship. With a shared interest in culture and tradition, one of the ensemble's goals is to support society's interest in the cultural scene and to get younger audiences excited about the sound of string instruments. In May 2022, the quartet visited the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium, where they were intensively tutored at Open by renowned chamber music professors such as Gregor Sigl (Artemis Quartet), Miguel da Silva (Ysaÿe Quartet) and Yossif Ivanov (assistant to Prof. Augustin Dumay). Master classes taught.

The quartet made a very positive impression on all professors and was invited to play concerts in the chapel and to take part in further master classes.

In Vienna, the quartet also receives lessons from Prof. Wolfgang Wölfer-Roth (artist of Thomastik Infeld Vienna). Prof. Anton Straka and  Prof. Michael Frischenschlage r.   The young quartet is regularly taught by Mag. Vida Vujic at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in order to increase the musical development of each individual's abilities in the field of chamber music.

In order not to let the Hungarian-Austrian composer, pedagogue and violinist Carl Goldmark be forgotten, the quartet was named after him, a name that will be honored and remembered.

"By working together and listening to the ensemble in concert, I gained an extremely pleasant impression of the seriousness of these four musicians"

Prof. Wolfgang Wölfer-Roth
